Accessibility Features

We strive to ensure that our website:

  • Is fully navigable using a keyboard and assistive technologies such as screen reader
  • Uses clear and simple language to ensure information is easy to understand
  • Uses legible fonts, sufficient colour contrast, and resizable text to enhance readability
  • Is responsive and works across a range of devices and screen sizes, including desktops, tablets, and smartphones
  • Includes a built-in High Contrast Mode, which can be enabled using the toggle button at the top of this page. This mode removes all styling and presents the site as a simple high-contrast document with a black background and white and yellow text, designed to support users with visual impairments or light sensitivity

Compliance Status

This website aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
The website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 AA due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.

Non-Compliance and Known Limitations

  • PDF documents — older or third-party PDF files may not be fully accessible to screen reader software. We will work to replace or supplement these with accessible alternatives where possible. If you need the content of any PDF in a different format, please contact the school office and we will do our best to help.
  • Embedded third-party content — some embedded content, such as Google Maps or external video players, may not fully meet accessibility standards. We do not control the accessibility of these third-party services.
  • Images — we endeavour to include descriptive alternative text for all non-decorative images which are important content. If you find any images without appropriate alt text, please let us know and we will address this promptly.
  • Videos — where video content is included, we aim to provide captions or transcripts. If you find any video content that lacks these, please contact us.
  • Forms — some forms with custom styling may not be fully accessible. We will address these as they are identified.
  • Text spacing and line height — there may be some areas of the site where text spacing cannot be fully adjusted due to the constraints of our website platform.

Ongoing Efforts

We are committed to making continuous improvements to accessibility. Our ongoing work includes:

  • Audits — we commit to reviewing the website against accessibility standards on a regular basis
  • User feedback — we welcome and act on feedback from users about accessibility barriers they encounter
  • Staff awareness — staff responsible for maintaining the website are made aware of accessibility requirements when publishing content
  • Keeping up to date — we endeavour to keep pace with evolving accessibility standards and best practice
